MECHANICSVILLE,
MARYLAND (February 28, 2023) –
Maryland International Raceway ™
(MIR) held their Awards Presentation
and Racer’s Party at the Waldorf
Jaycee Community Center in Waldorf,
Maryland where the 2022 Track
Champions were crowned on Saturday,
February 25, 2023.
The first award of the evening was
handed to one of MIR’s staff
members. The Employee Recognition of
Excellence was given to Lisa
Thompson, who works Security,
Intersection, and occasionally in
the water box.

The
first set of champions to be
introduced were from the Late Model
Performance Midnight Madness series
which runs on select Friday nights.
First up was Francis Proctor of
Mechanicsville, Maryland who was
awarded the Bracket Bike Racing
Matters Motorcycle Grand Champion
trophy and jacket. Keith Burch of
Mechanicsville, Maryland was the
next to be introduced and awarded
the Grand Champion trophy and
jacket.
The
final three to be introduced were
from the 1320 Fabrication ET Series
presented by East Coast Collision.
17-year-old Jordan Denny of
Nokesville, Virginia was announced
as the Hubble Motorsports Junior
Dragster Champion and received his
third MIR championship trophy
running in the Hubble Motorsports
Junior Dragsters. Next, for Mod
ET,
AJ Jenkins of Mechanicsville,
Maryland was presented his second
MIR championship trophy. His other
championship came in 2015 while in
the Hubble Motorsports Junior
Dragster program. Robbie Parlett of
Prince Fredrick, Maryland was then
called to the stage to accept his
third championship trophy in Top ET.
Parlett’s championship ties him for
most all time in Top ET with three
other drivers.
In
addition to the awards ceremony, the
racer party also included cocktails,
dinner, 50/50 drawing, door prizes &
trivia contest, live music and
dancing. It was a fun evening for
all and a great way to celebrate the
2022 season and turn the page to the
2023 schedule.
The 2023 1320 Fabrication ET Series
presented by East Coast Collision
kicks off Saturday, March 25th for a
double header weekend. MIR will also
host special ET weekends with two
King of the Creek 25k’s events June
1st – June 4th and September 7th –
10th, four ET Series Blowout
Weekend’s, plus other multiple race
weekends and special events.
